Landscaping

The original landscaping was the work of Preben Jacobsen who brought in new thinking on how buildings and the environment around them should be integrated. This idea has worked incredibly well on Templemere where vistas to specimen trees have been designed, parking bays located away from direct view from inside properties and pathways hidden by undulating ground.

There are 73 lawns with the most prominent being the central lawn which lead from the centre of the estate through to the woods. These central lawns are where the community holds events, kids play whilst parents catch up.

Houses

There are two formats of properties on the estate, three bedroom terraces (T2Y) and four bedroom terraces (L1). Garages for the T2Ys are arranged in blocks away from the houses and the L1s are attached to the back gardens of the four bedrooms.

On first appearance properties are striking, floor to ceiling glass, angled façades, pitched roofs and white horizontal bars between the floors, which apparently took reference from Silver Birches on the estate. Brickwork is black engineering brick and any concrete is painted British Standard Rhino Grey.

Services

Soakaways that drain the roadways are cleared about every two years to forestall flooding; those which drain houses under their lawn or garden are the responsibility of the relevant owners.

Lightbulbs in the unique ‘mushroom’ lights and bulkheads are maintained by TRSL.
